I’m Janet. I am a full time health seeker and food activist who happens to specialize in making you look amazing and professional online. I love my life and I love my husband. #LuckyInLove
I originated in Ohio, went to college in Pennsylvania, studied abroad in Costa Rica, lived in Arizona, and lived in Fort Myers, FL while managing a roller skating rink. I have been a marketing and website consultant in Charlotte, NC for Venture Consulting Group where I specialized in graphic and print design and also offered website and online beautification solutions. While I still do the occasional projects for VCG, I am currently a free agent looking for part-time and full-time career possibilities. In my spare time I am still offering short term solutions for those in need.
I travel by motorcycle and go where the road takes me. I’m just loving life, living one day at a time and doing my best in everything that comes my way.
Twixmixy.com is my personal play-space. It is a website that I’ve been running for over 15 years to list whatever my interest are at the time. Click What Is Twixmixy? to learn more about this site and visit the About The Author page to learn more about me.
I’ve been journaling/blogging all of my life. Just like the Twixmixy website, the content continues to change, but the blog lives on. I have fluctuated as a blogger as well, you can visit my Pic Of The Day project to learn more about my journey of posting a picture every day for a year.
Along the same lines of my website and blogging, I have been diligently working for over 15 years. In recent years I have had the privilege to run my own practice within Venture Consulting Group with my family. I love what I do and find myself to be continually blessed in my work and in my life. See my LinkedIn page to learn more about my recent accomplishments.
During my POTD journey I went through a health wake-up call. I was sick and began my journey to find answers and ultimately to heal my body. I visited doctors, found an awesome naturopath, discovered that I have candida, and began cooking every day. In the past year I have been working with a Nutritional Therapist who has guided me through a health protocol that is developed around my personal bio-individuality. I’ve always liked learning and have found it to be useful, but it was taken up to a love for learning when I met my fiancé, Rowan. He grew up in a world of education and is now a teacher. His passion and curiosity for more information has only further ignited that desire to learn within me. Most of the subjects that I’m currently interested in are health, wellness, food, cooking, agriculture, and related activism. One of my biggest efforts outside of reading as much as I can, is my group Charlotte Foodie Meetup. We get together every month to enjoy a potluck together and to learn from an expert in their field. Feel free to join us!
The main purpose of CFM is to educate those who want to know more about their food in Charlotte and to provide activist options to those people.
We put on various events to raise awareness and to come together in our shared passions. Our events include hands-on cooking/fermenting workshops, informational food activism presentations, brain-storming/community gathering sessions, volunteer/getting involved events, holiday parties and more! If you have an idea for an event or would like your foodie event featured on the CFM page, please reply to this email and let me know!
Personally, food is a HUGE passion of mine. I cook every day because I eat every day. I want to help others get back into their kitchens and to find enlightenment as to what and how they are consuming.
Feel free to contact me any time if you want to begin your foodie journey as well!
